The Wanderer And His Shadow features the usual blackened guitar riffs, blast beats and raspy vocals. But one thing that makes Pantheon-I a little different is their use of a cellist. It adds a bit of melancholy to the coldness of the band's sound and using a cello instead of synths is unique.
Pantheon-I has the bleakness and rawness of black metal down pat, but they add enough melody, soul and experimentation to make The Wanderer And His Shadow more interesting than the standard Norwegian black metal release.
