After spending the majority of his time directing movies the past few years, Rob Zombie returned to his musical roots with a 2005 stint on Ozzfest and a new album in 2006. This CD is collection of White Zombie and Rob Zombie's greatest hits.
The Best Of Rob Zombie includes songs from White Zombie's La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 1 (1992) and Astro-Creep: 2000 (1995) and Rob Zombie's solo albums Hellbilly Deluxe (1998), The Sinister Urge (2001) and Educated Horses (2006). There aren't any songs from the band's first three albums that were released in the '80s (which were on different record labels) or the White Zombie and Rob Zombie remix CDs.
The songs are in chronological order, which I always prefer with greatest hits CDs. There are two or three tracks from each album, which is a nice balance. Without the early material it's not a completely comprehensive collection, but it is a good introduction to Zombie's industrial metal style.
