Black Sabbath - The Dio YearsRhino Records
Ronnie James Dio didn't spend a long time in Black Sabbath, but during the time he was in the band they made some great albums. The Dio era of Sabbath included 1980's Heaven And Hell, 1981's Mob Rules, 1982's Live Evil and then his return in 1992 for Dehumanizer.

The Dio Years includes songs from all those albums, plus three newly recorded tracks. Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice recorded "The Devil Cried," "Shadow Of The Wind" and "Ear In The Wall," which are vintage Sabbath. Ronnie James Dio's voice still sounds great, and the whole group hasn't lost a step.

The band is also touring under the name Heaven And Hell. If you're a fan you definitely want to check them out, because it could be the final time this lineup plays live. Dio recorded some classic songs when he was with Sabbath, and it's nice to have them in one collection, plus the bonus of three excellent new songs.
