Sentenced - Buried AliveCentury Media Records
The Finnish band Sentenced was around for a long time. Between 1989 and 2005 they released a bunch of CDs and had a lot of success in their home country. They also gained fans all over the world with their dark and gothic metal style. This 2 CD collection is the band's farewell concert, recorded at Oulu, Finland on October 1, 2005.

In addition to this 2 CD set, there is also a 2 DVD collection that includes some extras. There's even an imported digipak that has all four discs, but is only available via mail order. One great thing about this collection is that in addition to current vocalist Ville Laihiala, the band's former vocalist Taneli Jarva joins the group to sing five songs. It's a real treat for fans of the band to be able to see and hear both vocalists.

The sound quality of the live recording is good. You can hear plenty of crowd noise, but not so much that it becomes distracting. This is an appropriate and fitting farewell for Sentenced. Ironically enough Buried Alive is also a great introduction to the band, even though they are no longer together.
