Septic Flesh - Communion

Season Of Mist Records
After splitting in 2003, the Greek band Septic Flesh reunited last year for the Metal Healing Festival in their native country. It went so well the band decided to keep things going and recorded a new studio CD.

Communion is Septic Flesh's sixth studio CD, and extends the musical path they have traveled all these years. It combines the heaviness and brutality of death metal with the dark atmosphere and synths of gothic metal and a hint of black metal. There's even an entire orchestra and choir that adds a great symphonic/classical element to the songs.

The extreme elements of Septic Flesh are tempered with melody and contrasted nicely by the symphonic elements. The songwriting and arrangements are excellent. It's a great mix of tempos, intensities and atmospheres. From the beautiful to the brutal, Communion covers all the musical bases, and this is one of the best CDs Septic Flesh has done.

(released April 1, 2008 on Season Of Mist Records)
