Setherial are a Swedish black metal band whose members are also in other groups such as Blackwind, Naglfar, Bewitched and In Battle. They've been around since 1993, have had a lot of lineup changes, and this is their fifth CD and first with a wide U.S. release.
The songs hearken back to the mid '90s with furious blast beats, some synths and the shrieking black metal style vocals. It's a solid effort, but lacks diversity. The songs sound pretty similar, and although unrelenting and brutal, need more depth and range to really stand out.
