Real To Reel is a double CD set, but only one CD is available in stores. To get the the second disc you buy a Tesla concert ticket and it is included as part of the package. The artists covered on this CD include classic rock staples like Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Uriah Heep and The Rolling Stones. These songs are right in Tesla's wheelhouse and they nail them. Jeff Keith's distinctive voice sounds excellent singing these classic songs.
The best song on this CD was originally done by an artist you wouldn't expect a band like Tesla to cover: The Temptations. They do a great version of "Ball Of Confusion" which is the highlight of the first CD. The second CD, which is available on their summer tour, includes songs done originally by groups including Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper and Bad Company. Tesla puts on a great live show anyway, but getting the second CD is just another reason to check them out on tour.
