Gothic Kabbalah is a grandiose album with lengthy songs and a lot of orchestrated and choral sections. The songs are arranged extremely well, with great atmosphere and texture, but also allowing for the band to show their musicianship with riffs and extended solos.
Therion uses four different vocalists on this album, two male and two female. Some of the female vocals are operatic soprano and very gothic sounding, while others are more traditional and in a lower pitch. The use of so many vocalists adds a lot of diversity, which is needed with a double CD collection.
Gothic Kabbalah is a little excessive and over the top in places, and the band probably would have been better served to do a little editing and make this a single disc, but fans of Therion will enjoy the album.
