16 of those bands are captured in the Thrashing Like A Maniac compilation. Some of the biggest bands in the modern scene are featured, such as Municipal Waste and Evile along with up and comers like Warbringer. While the bands are all thrash metal, they play different variations. Some are heavier and have Slayer influences, some have classic Bay Area thrash inspirations, while others incorporate the European style of thrash.
Unless you're really into thrash, a lot of these bands may be unfamiliar to you, and it's a great way to discover new talent. I was especially impressed with Bonded By Blood and Lazarus. There are a couple of songs that are marginal, but for the most part Thrashing Like A Maniac is a strong collection.
