Milagrosa is a quirky amalgamation of stoner metal, psychedlia and doom with a periodic Latin influence. There are some very heavy moments with thick, downtuned guitars playing Sabbath style riffs. Totimoshi also gets really mellow, with "Forever In Bone" being a sparse song with just Tony Aguilar's vocals and acoustic guitar.
Totimoshi isn't afraid to experiment. They use syncopated rhythms and other elements you might not expect from this genre of music. Lyrically they are getting into concept album territory, with the subject matter being mostly about the imaginary fight between love/compassion and hate/violence.
Milagrosa is an enigmatic album that cycles through a lot of styles. Sometimes you think it's stoner metal, other times you'll swear you're listening to a jam band, and there are times the heaviness disappears and it's almost like folk music. No matter what they're playing, just when you think you have Totimoshi figured out they change it up. That makes for a diverse and interesting CD.
