Denmark is the new Sweden. A string of excellent metal bands from that country have been making noise worldwide in the past few years, and the latest is Urkraft. Their sophomore CD combines death and thrash metal and tempers the insanity with atmospheric keyboards. You'll hear influences of groups like The Haunted, Soilwork and At The Gates.
The songs are mid and uptempo thrash with decent death metal style vocals. Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Himsa) is the producer, and he makes Urkraft sound larger than life. A lot of bands are doing this type of music, and while Urkraft does it well, it's not distinctive enough to rise very far above the din.
