Vomitory - Terrorize Brutalize SodomizeMetal Blade Records
Vomitory is back with another album of smooth and tranquil music perfect for lullabies. I'd recommend "Eternal Trail Of Corpses" or "Scavenging The Slaughtered" to get the little ones to fall asleep. Of course metal fans know I'm joking and the latest effort from the long running Swedish death metal band is another teeth-shattering, neck-snapping, bone-jarring slab of extremity.

There is one major change with Vomitory on this album. Ulf Dalegren departed after nearly 15 years in the band and was replaced by Peter Östlund (The Law).

Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize is the perfect title for this album. It's crushing death metal with heavy guitars and lightning fast blast beats. You'll hear thrash influences and some catchy riffs amongst all the brutality. Vomitory shows versatility by being able to play at breakneck speed, but also slowing down the tempo but not the intensity.

The production on the album is really good. Rikard Lofgren polishes and separates the band's sound without sacrificing a bit of ferocity. From the song titles to the guttural vocals to the savage musicianship, this is classic death metal with no frills and no b.s.
