Warface are a death metal trio from San Diego. Their full length debut is both technical and brutal. The problem with a lot of death metal is that all the songs run together and sound the same. Warface puts in enough tempo changes where that isn't as much of a factor.
Guitarist Laura Christine shines with several creative solos along with an albumfull of crushing riffs. Drummer Scott Ellis is also impressive, varying his style and technique and not just pounding the double bass the entire time. Dave Smith's vocals sound like they are from the bowels of hell. They are extremely low pitched and evil and it sounds like he has a throat full of phlegm.
Insanity Of The Obsessed doesn't reinvent the genre or anything, but it is a very solid and diverse death metal CD.
