Weltenbrand are a gothic band from the tiny European country of Liechtenstein who have been around for more than a decade. On their latest release they've had some lineup changes, including a new female vocalist Dina Zambelli.
The album takes you a lyrical journey through Liechtenstein's myths and legends. The music is dark and somber with atmospheric strings and keyboards. Ritchie Wenaweser is the male vocalist, and has a deep baritone voice that really resonates with the gothic style music. Zambelli's ethereal Enya-style vocals add an element of light to the darkness.
This album is very mellow, so if you're looking for an extreme headbanger this won't be your cup of tea. If you appreciate dark and complex atmospheric music that combines elements of goth and new age, this will be right up your alley.
