Wolf - The Black FlameProsthetic Records
With Wolf you won't get anything trendy or edgy, just good old fashioned heavy metal. On their fourth CD the Swedish band takes it back to the old school with influences of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest mixed with a bit of power metal and thrash.

The Black Flame has a retro vibe with traditional metal guitar riffs and monstrous hooks. Niklas Stalvind's vocals are in the power metal style with a lot of emotion and vibrato. He has good range, although his delivery gets shrill at times. The lyrics are a bit cliched and over the top, but the whole thing is a bit over the top, which is part of its appeal.
