Guide Review - Amoral - Decrowning

The Finnish death metal band Amoral steps it up on their sophomore album. Their brand of melodic death metal is very precise and technical in places, but also groove filled and thrashy in others. You'll hear elements of bands like Soilwork, In Flames and Meshuggah in their style.

Amoral hammers you with blast beats, double bass and blistering vocals, but also leaves room for solos and experimentation. The vocals are raw and emotional, but the screaming does vary in pitch and magnitude, which makes it much more tolerable.

Progressive technical melodic thrashy death metal sounds like a strange description, but Amoral combines all those elements into this album.
