Guide Review - Cataract - Kingdom
Metalcore has become very generic and formulaic, and it's refreshing when a band in this genre stands out. Cataract is one of those bands. Their biggest strength is their memorable riffs. The vocals are pretty generic, but the guitar work makes up for that. The band is influenced by groups like Hatebreed and Slayer and incorporate metal, hardcore and thrash into their sound.
The band made a wise choice in using Tue Madsen and his Antfarm Studio. Madsen's production is crisp and clean and he knows how to get the most out of a band. If you're a fan of metalcore you'll enjoy Cataract.
