Guide Review - Crucified Barbara - In Distortion We Trust

Even though they are an all female quartet from Sweden, Crucified Barbara sounds like they came from the Sunset Strip circa 1985. It's music delivered with a swagger and an attitude. These ladies are very attractive, but they seem like the type that aren't afraid to mix it up a little.

Their debut album is packed with sleazy metal riffs and giant melodic hooks. Mia Coldheart's vocals are aggressive and the lyrics are raw and straight to the point. Coldheart does a nice job of going from smooth and melodic to an almost death metal style growl. The album wraps up with a cover of Motorhead's "Killed By Death," which is appropriate since they are an obvious influence on Crucified Barbara.
