Guide Review - Dismember - The God That Never Was
Dismember has been around since 1988 are one of the pioneers of the Swedish melodic death metal sound. Almost 20 years later they've lost none of their intensity. This album is as powerful and brutal as anything they've done.
In addition to being able to play at breakneck speed with waves of riffs flying at you and a barrage of double bass, Dismember also is able to slow down the tempo and showcase their musicianship. There's even an instrumental track called "Phantoms (Of The Oath)" that has some incredible guitar work that's both diverse and creative.
If you want to hear some great old school death metal, pick up this album.
