Guide Review - Fragments Of Unbecoming - Sterling Black Icon

The German death metal band Fragments Of Unbecoming has evolved from a side project into a full time band. On their third album they bring aboard Legacy vocalist Sam Anetzberger. Guitarist Stefan Weimar, who did the vocals on the previous two albums still has some lead vocals and does backing vocals as well.

Their sound is old school Swedish style death metal in the vein of early In Flames. The songs are loaded with blast beats, double bass and punishing riffs. The new vocalist is good and having another vocalist to add background and alternate leads adds some diversity as well.

The songs themselves are pretty much by the book melodic death metal. They aren't unique, but are done very well.
