Guide Review - Maroon - When Worlds Collide
Start with some east coast style hardcore, add some Bay Area thrash and mix it up with Swedish death metal and you have the German band Maroon. The band is straight edge and vegan, and the lack of alcohol and meat seems to have pissed them off. They bring the metal riffs full force with plenty of breakdowns and hardcore style angry vocals.
Maroon used a few guest musicians on this album which adds a little diversity to the mix. Mercenary vocalist Mikkel Sandager lends his melodic tones to a song, and legendary Agnostic Front vocalist Roger Miret also appears. Napalm Death's Barney Greenway is another guest vocalist.
Maroon's style of metalcore is a little different than some of their U.S. contemporaries. Their musicianship is really good, and they have long enough instrumental sections to showcase that ability.
