Guide Review - One Man Army And The Undead Quartet - 21st Century Killing Machine

I don't know if it was coincidence or a planned event, but both this album and the one from Lindstrand's former The Crown bandmate Marko Tervonen's project Angel Blake are being released on the same day in North America.

This band certainly takes the prize for longest and most tedious name, but thankfully their music is anything but tedious. It's Swedish melodic death metal that gets off to a rough start, but as the album goes on they find their groove. Catchy thrash riffs blend with Lindstrand's death metal growls that are harsh but understandable. Most of the songs are mid-tempo, but they do crank up the speed from time to time.

There are a couple of songs that miss the mark, but for the most part it's a very good effort with standout guitar riffs and solos and strong vocals.
