Guide Review - Place Of Skulls - The Black Is Never Far
Place Of Skulls are at their core a doom metal band, but they branch out into several other genres as well. The band's vocalist and guitarist is Victor Griffin (Cathedral, Pentagram), and he brings a storied history in the doom genre.
Place Of Skulls plays a little faster than most doom metal bands and has a stoner rock influence. They also have a lot of progressive elements in their songs along with a '70s blues rock influence. Even though their music is dark it goes down really smooth and easy. It's hard to find a doom metal album rocks, but this one certainly does.
