Guide Review - Rebel Meets Rebel - Rebel Meets Rebel
Metal legends Vinnie Paul and his brother, the late great "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott teamed up with country bad boy David Allan Coe and Pantera bassist Rex Brown for a unique and fun collaboration. Southern rock has a definite country influence, so it wasn't much of a stretch to make it a little more metal.
This is one of those albums where it sounds like everybody had a great time making it. The songs are upbeat, fun and very catchy. They also feature plenty of Dimebag's guitar riffs, licks and solos. As someone who dislikes country music, I can honestly say I enjoyed this album. Coe's vocals are twangy, but he's closer to Molly Hatchet than Garth Brooks.
This is a great CD to throw on at a party. So break out the Pantera t-shirt, the cowboy hat and drink a couple in honor of Dimebag Darrell.
