Guide Review - Rob Zombie - Educated Horses

After making movies and music videos for the past several years, Zombie returned to making music with a stint on Ozzfest 2005 and now a new solo album. His band includes guitarist John Five, bassist Blasko and drummer Tommy Clufetos. There are also a few guest musicians that appear on the record, including Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.

This album is the mellower side of Rob Zombie. There are a few metal moments, but for the most part it's mainstream rock. Most of the songs have a classic rock or glam rock vibe. There are a couple songs that are standouts, but there are a lot that are pretty forgettable. Zombie's vocals on the record are good and the production is stellar, but there just aren't enough memorable songs to make this anything but an average album.
