Guide Review - Sodom - Sodom

It's been five years since the last Sodom studio album. They've released a live album and a DVD since then, but fans have been hungering for new material. Fans of the band won't be disappointed with their latest release.

Sodom's style of thrash is old school. The songs aren't as fast as their last album M 16, but they are plenty aggressive with thick riffs and Tom Angelripper's trademark high-pitched vocals. Their lyrics tackle serious social and political issues and aren't afraid to take a stand.

It's great to see a band like Sodom that's been around for 25 plus years and can still be extreme and brutal. This album doesn't break any new musical ground for the band, but it shows they still have the musical chops and the desire to raise some hell.
