Guide Review - The Ocean - Aeolian

This album was recorded at the same time as The Ocean's previous album Fluxion. This one is substantially different from that one. It's a lot heavier. It's very complex and technical, but there are still a lot of ambient influences. It's a combination of groups like Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan and Converge.

The Ocean has brought in a bunch of guest vocalists that add quite a bit of variety, including Tomas Hallbom (Breach), Nate Newton (Converge) and Sean Ingram (Coalesce). It's an interesting album, but the concept wears a little thin toward the end. Trimming a song or two might have made things a little more concise.
