Early Days:

What would later become Children Of Bodom was formed in 1993 by vocalist Alexi Laiho and drummer Jaska Raatikainen in Espoo, Finland. They released a couple of demos under the name Inearthed. They signed a deal with Spinefarm Records in 1997 and released their debut album Something Wild as Children Of Bodom.

Worldwide Success:

The band with their brand of melodic metal has always been very popular in their native Finland with several hit singles and albums. With each successive album their worldwide appeal has grown, and that continued with 2005's Are You Dead Yet? which was named as the second best CD of the year by this site.
