Axel Rudi Pell - Live Over Europe DVD

Axel Rudi Pell has been making music for over a quarter century, and the German shredder and his band are tighter than ever. Live Over Europe is a 2 DVD set. The first disc is the band's set at the 2007 Rock Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Out of the 9 songs Axel Rudi Pell plays (plus a drum solo), three of them are from their latest studio album, 2006's Mystica. The rest are a mix from their catalog, going all the way to their 1989 debut Wild Obsession.

The second disc is called the "Official Bootleg DVD," and includes privately shot footage from 2004 to 2006. Instead of several cameras and a professional crew, most of these songs were filmed with one camera from the audience perspective. There are Axel Rudi Pell songs filmed at the 2004 Sweden Rock Festival, 2005 Bang Your Head Festival (Germany), 2006 Bloodstock Festival (UK), 2005 Wacken Open Air (Germany), 2005 Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and more.

Live Over Europe is a nice collection. I wish there were more songs on the first DVD, but a band has a limited time they are allowed to play at a festival. It's cool that both a professionally shot concert and DIY, lower quality fan footage are used in the 2 DVD set. It has something for everyone.
