Vader - And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw

Metal Mind Productions
The Polish death metal band Vader has released a couple of live CDs, and this is their third DVD. It was recorded at the Stodola Club in Warsaw in February of 2007 as they wrapped up the Impressions In Blood Tour.

And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw is a very well put together DVD. The concert is a long one, as Vader plays 19 songs (plus an intro). The song selection spans their entire career with tracks ranging from 1993's The Ultimate Incantation through the aforementioned Impressions In Blood, which was released in 2006. The DVD ends with "Wyrocznia," featuring a guest appearance from Orion (Behemoth, Vesania).

The video and audio quality are excellent. The concert was filmed with seven cameras, so there are plenty of great angles to choose from. You see plenty of crowd shots along with close ups of each band member and wider shots of the whole band. It flows really well. The DVD was also recorded in Dolby 5.1, so you can crank it up and get the room shaking with your surround sound system.

The extras include an interview with frontman Peter Wiwczarek, video clips, a discography, photo gallery, band history and more. In addition to the regular DVD edition, there is also a special edition available that includes a CD version of the concert. And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw is a DVD Vader fans will want to add to their collection.
