Meet Kim Kelly:
Kim Kelly is a metal journalist hailing from the grim forests of South Jersey, who now splits her time between wild wild West Philadelphia and the more genteel grime of Brooklyn, NY. She is something of a jill-of-all-trades as far as the metal industry is concerned, but her main gig (and overwhelming passion) is working as a freelance writer.
Experience:
Kim’s work can currently be seen in Metal Maniacs, Unrestrained!, Hails & Horns, AMP, and Resound. She’s also written for BAST Magazine, MetalReview.com, and PivotalRage.com, amongst many others. In addition to her writing career, Kim is also a metal DJ and the Loud Rock/Metal Director for WKDU 91.7 FM Philadelphia, has worked with Relapse, Candlelight, Earache, and The End Records, and runs Catharsis PR.
From Kim Kelly:
Metal has been a huge part of my life since I was eleven years old. The first time I ever heard Bathory’s Under the Sign of the Black Mark, I knew that that was it – my eardrums, heart and soul were to be the eternal property of the metal gods. Through working in this industry, I’ve met some amazing people, made some lifelong friends, and gone to way too many awesome shows. Every bruise, every scar, every hangover and every missed exam has been 100% worth it – I can’t imagine living any other way. See you in the pit!
