Ryan Ogle

By , About.com Guide

Meet Ryan Ogle:

After spending the better part of his teens and twenties playing in various metal bands, Ryan entered the world of music journalism in 2004. He started out writing for Live4Metal under the mentorship of Scott Alisoglu before branching out to Electric Basement.

Experience:

Ryan’s hobby soon took a more serious turn when he was brought on as a writer for Pit Magazine. From there, the metal-minded scribe saw his work being published in Amp Magazine and Ruin Magazine (where he served as Associate Editor), as well as on sites such as LivingForMetal.com and Lambgoat.com. Ryan is currently keeping himself busy writing for Outburn, Hails & Horns, Chord, Blabbermouth.net and ArtistDirect.com.

From Ryan Ogle:

Music has always been my primary outlet and escape from the daily grind. It all started with the likes of KISS, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd and eventually exploded into a set of musical tastebuds that appreciates everything from acid jazz to Viking metal. Through it all, metal is the one style that’s always held the strongest grip on me. Nothing else brings higher levels of aggression, passion, talent, creativity and dedication to one’s craft to the table all at once. On top of that, metal has always been more than just music; it’s a culture and community unto itself, one that I’m honored to be a part of.
