Guide Review - Krisiun - AssassiNation

On their latest album the Brazilian death metal trio has perfected their death metal formula. They haven't made any quantum leaps, but each album is slightly better than the last.

Krisiun's brand of death metal is very heavy, but also very technical. All of the guitar and drum riffs are crisp and precise, but still really intense and powerful while maintaining a decent groove. It's hard to believe just three people can deliver such an aural assault.

Alex Camargo's vocals are excellent. His death metal growls are ominous without being too repetitive. And speaking of being repetitive, Krisiun does a good job avoiding that by inserting a couple of short instrumentals and also changing up tempos within songs.
