Guide Review - naio ssaion - Out Loud

naio ssaion (yes, it's supposed to be lower case) have a unique name, are from a pretty unique country, Slovenia, and their sound is also unique. It's very poppy goth influenced metal in the vein of Evanescence with a lot of violins that make it sound vaguely Celtic.

The songs are very melodic and have some nice riffs. Barbara is the band's vocalist, and her upper range is very strong. Their uptempo songs with her singing middle to upper register are the strongest.

Unfortunately there are also some nu-metal style spoken vocals, both male and female, that are simply awful. I like a lot of things about this album, and the violins are definitely interesting. I'd say make the guitars a little crunchier and lose the spoken and yelled vocals and they'll be even better.
