Guide Review - Anthrax - Alive 2

The summer of 2005 saw the reunion of Anthrax's classic lineup for the band's 20th anniversary. Taken on its own, this is a fine piece of nostalgia with Joey Belladonna singing some of the signature Anthrax songs like "Caught In A Mosh" and "Among The Living." The band sounds like they are having a good time and the sound quality of the live album is very good.

The big question is what's next? Will the classic lineup continue and write new material? Is John Bush, who did such a great job on vocals for the past several years, being kicked to the curb? Will the band revert to being a nostalgia act, or continue to make cutting edge metal?

All of these are questions to be answered at a later date. In the meantime, let yourself go back and enjoy the early days of one of the best and most influential metal bands of all time.
