Guide Review - Bolt Thrower - Those Once Loyal
With Bolt Thrower there are no surprises. You know exactly what you're going to get, and they deliver every time. Their mid-tempo grooves and military themed lyrics are as good as ever. Their latest features the return of vocalist Karl Willets after a one album hiatus. His distinctive growl and meticulously researched lyrics are the backbone of the band.
Bolt Thrower is a death metal band, crushing you with intensity instead of running over you with speed. They've perfected that formula over the years, and don't stray far from it. There are thousands more wars to write about and an unlimited supply of riffs, so I don't think Bolt Thrower will run out of material any time soon. And for that, their fans are grateful.
