Guide Review - Fear Of Eternity - Toward The Castle

The musical style on this album is similar to the early days of black metal and artists such as Necromantia and Mystifier. It's heavy on keyboards and atmospherics. The vocals are sporadic and in the classic raspy black metal style. Mixed in with the keyboards are intermittent guitar riffs and minimal percussion.

I wasn't hugely impressed with this album. Being mellow and atmospheric is fine, but there really wasn't that feeling of menace and cold foreboding that a really good black metal album can instill. It's cold, but not cold enough.
