Guide Review - Seven Witches - Amped review

Founding member and guitarist Jack Frost also produces Seven Witches' latest album. Added to the mix on Amped are veteran vocalist Alan Tecchio (Hades, Non-Fiction, Watchtower) and bassist Kevin Bolembach.

Tecchio is a positive addition to the band. He has a good set of pipes and writes some interesting lyrics. The topics of the songs on this album range from the west nile virus to Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

The music on the album is traditional metal with a bit of an '80s feel to it. There are also obvious power metal influences in both the music and vocals. Jack Frost is a talented guitarist and has some good solos. The riffs are decent, but not the strongest he's come up with.

Seven Witches definitely shows a lot of diversity on this album. There are thrashy songs, symphonic songs and even a power ballad. They also do a cover of the Billy Idol song "Flesh For Fantasy."

Amped is a good album, but with the talent of Frost and Tecchio could have been even better.
