Guide Review - Vader - The Art Of War
In anticipation of a full-length album later in 2006, Polish death metal legends Vader have released an EP that should raise the expectation level. The Art Of War is only 14 minutes long, but gives a taste of the things that have made Vader so successful over the years.
After their last album received less than stellar reviews, Vader returns to form. There are only 4 real songs on the EP with two instrumental sections, but those songs are crushingly brutal with massive blast beats and roaring vocals. There is even a hint of melody amongst all the aggression.
The production on the album is also really good. It showcases all of Vader's intensity without sounding muddy. I hope they didn't use up all of their good stuff on this EP, because if the full-length continues down this path it will be incredibly good.
