From the article: Best Hair Metal Bands
In the late '80s and early '90s hair bands ruled the world. They were on top of the radio and video charts, and sold out concerts across the globe. Then grunge came along and ended their reign. You've read our list of the best hair bands. Who did we miss? Who Is Your Favorite?

Nova Rex Rocks!

I have all of the cds from Blow Me Away to Ain't Easy Being Cheesy. Sleeze glam rock at its best. Jp on guitar is Eddie meets Lynch.

Come on!!!

All the bands mentioned are great and deservedly belong to the category but I don't agree with a lot of bands that don't want to be associated with those times, I'm talking about bands like Def Leppard, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Gn'R and others. Come on! Remember Def Leppard's videos from the Hysteria or Van Halen with David or Aerosmith videos from the albums Permanent Vacation and Pump, Bon Jovi's looks and not to mention the way Axl Rose look in the Welcome To The Jungle video. The fact is that, that is what it was popular and selling records at the time and everybody wanted a piece of the pie regardless if it was their own will or that record companies forced them, even old 70's band like Kansas, Bad English and Bad Co. Tried to fit into it and is sad that a lot of talented musicians had gone underrated and underapreciated because of the "looks" and the visual effect of that time and bands who now deny to be part of that craziness should be thankful that craziness put them on the map.

Favorite Hair Band?

Just can't pick a favorite. I love 'em all!!!!!!!!!
—Shaddoedenise

who put the crue at #2? wtf?

motley crue, best band of the 80s, and best live band period.
—Guest dethklok79

Quiet Riot ?

How come so many like Quiet Riot 2 hits BOTH Slade covers and just about identical to the original. At least most of the other hair bands mentioned were original. And the lead singer of riot was nearly bald even early on. At least Noddy Holder of Slade (Who must be60+) is still hairy

Cinderella

I think Cinderella should have been #1 on the list. With songs like " Don't Know What You Got ( Till It's Gone) and " Shake Me" they've got to be the best hair metal band. Poison's good but I think these guys should give more credit to bands like The Scorpions and Cinderella.
—Guest 80's Rocker

Motley Rules!!!

Really? Poison before Motley Crue? Poison is total bubble gum. Brett Michaels wears hair extensions. I do not think you can include him since his hair is not even real. Motley Crue all the way!!!
—Tmon69

my fave is.

van halen!! still love em!! i love dance the night away! and jump! they ruled in the 80,s glad roth is back with them!

Top 2 Underrated

TESLA has to be the best band no-one can remember, followed by SLADE. Tesla is still touring and Slade had a couple songs that turned out to be hits for Quiet Riot.
—Guest Baby Boomer

DEF LEPPARD

Can't believe Def Leppard was not included on this list! You could put all the hits of Winger, Slaughter, LA Guns & White Lion on one CD!
