Here's my list of the best heavy metal bands from Sweden. What other bands do you think should be on the list, and why? Who Are The Best?

pain of salvation?,

pain of salvation better than Arch enemy? Dark Tranquillity? amon amarth? opeth? pain of salvation is the "worst" swedish metal band i have ever heard. they should be kicked out of sweden. 'nuff said!!!

Arch Enemy #10??

In Flames is a joke at #2. After Clayman, they lost my interest. They've even been accused of "selling out" and becoming more commercial. Arch Enemy is easily in the top 3. I haven't heard such great guitar playing as The Amott brothers provide and lets not forget Daniel Erlandsson, the best drummer in metal today. And let's not forget about Angela. The growl of a pitbull and the looks of a goddess.

Soilwork?

What about Unleashed & Dismember. They were on the forefront of the Swedish death metal scene that spawned almost every melo death band on that list. The Crown is another band that deserves to be on there. Soilwork what a joke.

Best Swedish Band -

I must wholeheartedly agree that Pain of Salvation tops all the other bands listed here. Pain of Salvation's breed of progressive metal blends complex and intelligent structures with an emotional outpouring of lyrical depth and conceptual music. Daniel Gildenlow, the vocalist and fountainhead of genius behind the music, displays a range almost unheard of since Geoff Tate, but delivers his vocals with more authority and emotional accuracy, compelling the listener to not only feel his words, but experience them as events in time. Every Pain of Salvation album builds upon the structure of the previous albums, weaving a conceptual "narration" fired by the human condition, politics, relationships, child abuse and everything in between. Recommended Albums: (The holy trinity of Prog Rock): Perfect Element pt 1, Remedy Lane and BE.

3 words: PAIN OF SALVATION

I agree with opeth being one of the best metal bands in the scene, I love them but dude... you forgot about Pain of Salvation! I mean we're talking about the Best Swedish Metal Bands, POS HAS to be there, I'd put it at least 2nd, right behind Opeth I've never heard anything like pos or opeth and I don't think that ANY band can even reach to their level (not even dream theater to the prog community)

Are you missing something?

If we're talking about swedish metal. How to forget queer band like Europe? Do you forget the time that Final countdown has impacted around the world? Soilwork is retarded and must be removed from list.

I'm not a person...

who knows a lot about metal. In fact i haven't heard many off the chosen 10 list. But I totally miss TIAMAT on the list. Far too underappreciated are these guys, in my opinion.

Stockholm Death Metal

I would have included Dismember and even though they only have one album: Carnage.
